Hi everyone, I am new to the list so I thought I would say hello. I have had contact with Brenda Snider and Bob Rudeseal, I thankyou both for the help you have given me. Here is a bit about my family. They were on the 1827 Red River Settlement (Pembina) census but not on the 1850 census. My family are of Ojibwa decent. In about the 1850s they travelled down to Oregon on the immigrant train of the Hudson Bay Company and from there some came to Australia which is where I am now. My history has always been very important to me and I continue to grow as I find out more about my people and at 44 years of age I recon I can cram in some more learning. : ) The names in my family are: Moad, Flett and Bird, if anyone might be able to help me with any info I would be thankful. I know I am not able to become a member of the Little Shell Tribe as my family moved out of that area but I guess at some stage my family members would have been part of the movement to were you all are now. Well thanks for listening and I look forward to learning more. By the way, Brenda, I received my copy of "Strange Empire" the other day and your right it is very interesting, thanks for telling me about it. Shane Moad
