Bob just posted my family tree on the Family tree page. It is a work in progress and constantly changing. Nothing is written in blood so if you see mistakes, just give me a hollar. All corrections, additions and comments are welcome. I will also try to help out anyone that would like to find their lines. I have several research books so I'll do whatever I can to help out. Thanks Bob, the tree looks great! Brenda

Hi Vera! We hope to encourage others to upload their trees as well. I have not uploaded my most recent file as of yet - trying to fill in some blanks and make corrections. Thank you for posting this so I can add it to my file! I am not sure where you posted your tree or are you referring to the lineage of Joseph LaFromboise that you posted earlier? Brenda

Hi Brenda! Yes, I'm referring to the lineage of Jos. LaFramboise that I posted earlier. I'll need to update that version. Another thing, how do I post a pedigree tree rather than a Family Report which contains all the added notes, etc? I use Family Tree Maker. Thanks Vera

Hi Vera.. If your Program can export the files as a "GedCom" file.. (family.ged), you can upload it to the site just like you uploaded the Docs earlier. I am not sure what program Brenda Uses, but I use PAF 5 (Personal Ancestry File) from the Mormans as they have set the standards (5.5) for the Gedcom format that is used in all the genealogy programs, including "Family Tree Maker".. So if you export to Gedcom 5.5 and upload the gedcom file, we can then import the file easily to Brenda's Tree.

Hello My name is Ruby and I was browsing through this website and thought I would leave a message as I was interested in the name Letendre . Can anyone tell me if the surname of Letendre is registered with the Little Shell Tribe, The Letendre name also goes by Batoche. I know there are Letendre's buried in the Pembina cemetery .Any help on this surname would be most appreciated I am also looking for a Mary Delia Grumbo or Grandbois as the original name or any other researchers of these names. Thank You Ruby}}}}

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Tree is NOT the official Little Shell Tribe Genealogy Tree. We here at the website have compiled the information and provide it to the general public for Educational and recreative use only. There may be mistakes and omissions in this tree, so please do not depend on it as an "Official" Genealogy Tree. Also, Inclusion in this Tree does NOT mean that each individual is a member of the Little Shell Tribe. Only those who have Enrolled and been accepted after 1987 ARE Members of the Little Shell Tribe. If you feel you qualify for Membership in the Tribe, please Contact the Little Shell Main office for information on submitting an application for membership. Hi Ruby, it is my family tree that is currently posted to help others. I looked at the Roe Cloud Rolls and do not see the names of Letendre or Batoche on the rolls. Doesn't mean they couldn't have married into our tribe in recent history - but as of 1936, when the roll was established, their names did not appear. Hope this answers some of your questions! Brenda

Hi Ruby, I know I did not answer your question - but what exactly are you looking for? Letendre dit Batoche is a Metis name, and even though it is not specifically a Little Shell name, I'll try to help you. Can you give me a first name? Hopefully, a date perhaps? Also, how about Mary Delia Grandbois, is that all you know about her or do you have any dates that may help in locating her. Thanks!

Hi Brenda Mary Delia Grumbo as she went by would be a gr aunt of mine. She was married to Pat Batoche dit Letendre. She was only 15 when she married Pat, she had three children. Elizabeth, Laura, and Patrick Norman. Patrick died a few days after being born then Mary Delia died a couple of days after him. I have been trying to find her parents for a long time. Mary Delia died in 1905.She is buried in Badger Mn cemetery}}}} Jean Baptiste Letendre and Josephte Cree are my gr gr gr gr gandparents this is why I am researching the Letendre name. . The Letendre name was changed by my gr grandfather to Batoche, where they came from. Batoche is my maiden name. through the years it has had some various spellings, due to poor spelling, census takers etc.My genealogy is on Tribal Pages, anyone cam contact me by email for the code to see it. Hi Ruby, I am afraid I'm not coming up with much to help you. I don't see the name Mary Delia BUT there is a Mary, born about 1879, daughter of Louis Grandbois and Josephte Petit dit Thomas. This may be a lead you want to follow. Thats all I know about her. So far, this is the only one I saw that fits into the correct time period. I checked a few of my other books but didn't see anyone that could have been her. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I come across more. You say that your tree is on the tribal pages and I can get a code to see it? I would love to see it if you could send me the code. My email address is brenda.snider@att.net Thanks! brenda

Hi Bob, Hope you have great holidays. I have an original copy of the Roe Cloud List that I would like you to share with everyone. The one I have has my mother and older sisters listed. Also many other names that I haven't seen on any other site. I am not sure how to get this to you, I might have to mail it. I will be out of the country for several weeks but when I return I will be in touch. Jeane La Rance

Hell T.J. I have received a copy of the Roll Cloud Rolls. I plan on getting them online in the next week or so. They were donated by Jeane LaRance who received copies of it from the Great Falls Public Schools Library, Historical section. I just have to get them translated to text.. But in the meantime, it will be posted as a Adobe Acrobat PDF file. I also plan on posting a listing of the Little Shell Familes that settled permanently in Montana and the dates they arrived. (in the Lewistown Area).

Hi Louis, The tree that was on the site was my family tree, not that of the tribe. You asked about Morin and Keplin relatives, there are many many of them as we (Little Shell Chippewa people) are all basically related in one way or another.

Hi Louis (or do you prefer Louie?) I did a quick search and do see a Tobias Morin. His full name is Tobias Allen Morin, born abt 1931. He is the son of Roger and Therese (Morin) Morin. Yes, Therese's maiden name was also Morin. She was the daughter of Louis Morin Jr and Marie Beauchemin. If this sounds right, let me know and I'll get the rest of it to you. I also sent you a private email with the Roe Cloud Rolls, and will do this for anyone who asks. As I have helped and will continue to help out any genealogical requests.

Hi, I was curious why the tree was removed? I know it was not the official LST Tree, but it would be fun and educational to see it and compare it with ours... I currantly am working on my family tree where my grandmother and grandfather are members of LST. My grandfathers mother was Elenor Putra and her parents surnames were LaValley and Putra. My Grandmothers side I have just began work on as its easier to trace, my grandmothers name is JoAnn Murphy, her sister is Caroline Fluery who works on the treasury... My grandmother JoAnn and I will send files when we have a completed picture, i posted in the other genealogy topic seeking help on the putra side as well as determining how much Indian she was... We suspect that she was more than recorded.

Hello Everyone, My name is Bernice D. Falcon Zollner. My family is made up of Falcon, Malatare, Lafromboise, Swan and Ameline. My grandmother, Sophie Malatare, legend says, used to have Little Shell Tribal meetings at her house in Augusta Montana. My mother, her sister and their brother are all registered members. Why does each child have to register themselves? It seems like a mother could register her children? Just curious. I am in the United States Air Force, and have been serving for nearly 14 years. Native Warriors! Also, last year, I was the coordinator for our bases Native American Recognition Luncheon, which was visited by the first Native American in Space - Cdr John Harrington. We had a great meal, talk and later in the month we had displays of a teepee, artifacts and readings at the base library. I love my culture and celebrate our past.

Her paternal grandparents were Michel Monet dit Belhumeur b 1792 at Berthierville Quebec and Josephte "Saulteaux", daughter of Little Shell 1, an Ojibway Chippewa Chief. Can this be verified, if so, where do I look?
